Established in 1893, ULCCS Centenary Lower Primary School, Muttungal, has long been a center of inclusive, quality education in coastal Kozhikode. After its displacement in 2019 due to highway expansion, the school was revitalized under the ULCCS Centenary Initiative. In 2024–25, ULCCS assumed management, creating a modern campus and introducing a research-driven, visionary curriculum. This holistic model combines academics with co-curricular activities such as storytelling, music, gardening, and movement. Drawing on local culture and global best practices, the school now exemplifies early childhood education. It showcases how community engagement and corporate responsibility can transform public schooling.
he ULCCS Foundation, based in Vatakara, Kozhikode, is a compassionate organization dedicated to driving social and economic progress through sustainable initiatives. Established by the Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society (ULCCS), it focuses on uplifting marginalized communities and fostering inclusive development. Its mission is inspired by Vagbhatananda, a pioneering reformer who, in the early 20th century, founded the Athmavidya Sangham LP School to educate the underprivileged. Believing education to be a catalyst for social change, he also started a financial institution for accessible credit and a cooperative society to create employment for the jobless. His visionary efforts continue to shape ULCCS’s values and work today.
